How It Started
A Mission Rooted in Veterinary Medicine
Veterinary Benefits Group was founded in the early 2000s by benefits professionals who saw a gap that no one was addressing. Veterinary clinic owners wanted to offer their teams real health coverage — not bare-minimum plans — but the options available were designed for corporate HR departments, not small and mid-size practices.
We set out to change that. By focusing exclusively on the veterinary industry, we built deep relationships with carriers, developed plan structures that fit clinic budgets, and created an enrollment process that doesn't require a dedicated HR team to manage.
Two decades later, we're still doing exactly that — serving practices across North Carolina and South Carolina with the same hands-on approach we started with.
